I bit the bullet today and signed up and paid for the Pen Testing with Kali course along with 60 days access to the labs and one attempt of the 24-hour long practical exam. Before I dive in and start the official material(my voucher is valid for 12 months), I am going to do some preparations. The first step is to read some of the great books recommended to me by others who have completed the course and passed the exam. First on the list is:
Written in 2004 and updated in 2008 you might think it is now out of date but it’s explanation of Buffer Overflows is very clear and easy to read so will serve as good preparatory reading before attacking the official material on Buffer Overflows. Also while new techniques and exploits come out every day the principles remain relatively unchanged.
I intend to breath some life into this blog and use it to track my progress both while preparing and studying the OSCP.
